Leading Analyst Firm Names Planview to Leaders Quadrant in its Newest IT Portfolio Management Magic Quadrant Report

Independent Planview recognized in annual market research

Austin, TX — June 16, 2010 — Planview®, the leading provider of enterprise-wide portfolio management solutions, is recognized in the Leaders Quadrant of the Gartner Magic Quadrant for IT Project and Portfolio Management, 2010. Released on June 7 by Daniel Stang, the Gartner report included 31 software vendors that provide IT project and portfolio management (PPM) solutions in its review and quadrant profiling. The solutions were evaluated across more than a dozen criteria points encompassing the vendor's "ability to execute" and "completeness of vision."

"As an independent software company, Planview brings a singular focus to the portfolio management marketplace. Our outstanding team of professionals is committed to working with every one of our customers to improve their organizational performance by leveraging the portfolio management discipline. We are excited to be recognized as a leader in this market, but we never lose sight of the fact that our success is only possible because of the success of our customers," said Greg Gilmore, president and chief operating officer, Planview.

Recent customer-focused advances introduced by Planview include: the continued maturation of its Software as a Service (SaaS) capabilities into an industry-leading platform; an advanced road-mapping technology, released with Planview Enterprise 10.1, that allows organizations to align product roadmaps with the strategy of the business; and the Remote Advisory Service, which supports organizational adoption while reducing overall consulting and implementation costs.

In its report, Gartner states that "As a business strategy and a work management discipline, PPM involves process creation, user adoption and organizational change management." Supplementary offerings from Planview, such as the Planview Process Builder™ and Planview PRISMS® enablement lines, were designed to directly address these challenges.

The report adds that "While integration is always a key aspect allowing PPM systems to provide value, more recently, the integration story for PPM is focusing on third-party data sources that collect and track IT demand requiring the consumption of IT resources." The Planview OpenSuite™ product line was created to support customers' needs for this kind of integration, and delivers out-of-the-box interoperability between Planview Enterprise and more than 200 systems and applications.
